Conditions of registration in the Trotteur Français Stud Book of offspring born in 2026 from the crossing of Trotteur Français mares with the Standardbred stallion TACTICAL LANDING (USA)
Pursuant to Article 7 and Article 14 of the Trotteur Français Stud Book Regulation, and following the decision of the Stud Book Committee of 29th October 2024 (*subject to approval by SETF Breeding Committee, by the Board of Directors of the SETF and by the French Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, of the changes introduced therein) offspring born in 2026 conceived by artificial insemination of Trotteur Français mares with transported frozen semen of the stallion TACTICAL LANDING (USA) will be registered in the Trotteur Français Stud Book, subject to fulfilment of the following conditions :
- Eligibility criteria for the insemination of mares with the semen of TACTICAL LANDING ( USA)
To be eligible for insemination with the semen of the stallion TACTICAL LANDING ( USA), a mare must fulfil the following conditions :
- Be the offspring of both parents registered at birth in the Trotteur Français Stud Book,
- Be approved for breeding in the Trotteur Français breed for the 2025 breeding season and be classified 1st category according to her statute as established on 31st October 2024 and available on the Infonet server (under the Elevage Section i.e Breeding Section) or on the IFCE server.
- Be less than 17 in 2025 (Letters M to V)
- Not have among her six direct ascendants (sire, dam and sires and dam of these) more than one ascendant, bred in another breed than the Trotteur Français breed
- Not have been subject to two failed coverings in 2023 and 2024
- For the mares covered in 2024, the expected pregnancy term date shall not be later than 31st May 2025
- Registration formalities for eligible mares and organizational details of the drawing of lots
The list of eligible mares is to be validated by the Trotteur Français Stud Book Committee and published in the Bulletin of the Société d’Encouragement à l’Elevage du Trotteur Français (SETF), dated 21st November 2024
Owners of the eligible mares must enter the mares that they wish to be inseminated, under the conditions set out below.
An «Owner » is defined as any natural or legal person, full owner of an eligible mare – or, in the case of shared ownership, holding 50% or more of an eligible mare -. The ownership status of eligible mares is based on the information appearing on the registration card as registered with the IFCE on the date 19th September 2024.
The number of entries is limited to 4 mares per Owner.
The entries of eligible mares are to be carried out on-line, via a dedicated web-link, as published in the SETF Bulletin as of 22nd November 2024, at 12 noon.
The closing date for entries shall be 3rd December 2024, at 12 noon.
In case of shared ownership, the co-owner entering the mare is presumed to be acting in the name and on behalf of the other co-owners and must declare on honour that he as been approved by all of them.
Covering cards are issued for each mare, on an individual basis.
Should the number of entered mares be more than 60, a public drawing of lots will take place, under the SETF responsibility, with a view to establishing a list of 60 fully approved mares and 20 substitutes. The drawing of lots will take place on 10th December 2024, at 11 o’clock a.m. in the presence of a bailiff.
Should a drawing of lots take place, Owners may not obtain more than 1 covering card each.
An Owner may apply to the SETF for being authorized to substitute one mare by another, before the first covering takes place, provided that the substitute mare envisaged has been entered pursuant to the conditions described in this Section (Section 2). However, if the mare designated by the drawing of lots has never been covered before, no replacement is possible
If a mare designated by the drawing of lots is withdrawn by her owner before the first covering takes place, it is replaced by a substitute mare, in the order determined by the drawing of lots.
If, subsequent to the closing date for entries, in particular on the occasion of a check by the SETF, a mare that has been declared eligible does not fulfil or no longer fulfils the conditions of eligibility, she is withdrawn from the list and replaced by a substitute mare, in the order determined by the drawing of lots
- Technical costs and organization of the insemination procedure.
The Owner of a mare designated in accordance with these provisions is liable for payment to the SETF of the technical costs corresponding to the collection, freezing and transport of the semen of the stallion TACTICAL LANDING (USA), as defined by the Syndicate TECHNICAL LANDING (USA)
By the letter dated 24th September 2024, the Syndicate TACTICAL LANDING (USA) has chosen the Company EQUIBIOGENE BLOODSTOCK to ensure the reception and dispatch of the pellets for insemination of the designated mares. When entering his/ her mare, the Owner undertakes to comply with the specifications issued by the company EQUIBIOGENE BLOODSTOCK, concerning the insemination of that mare if she happened to be designated (including, in particular, keeping the doses in a center approved for international operations, the dispatch of doses to the recipients, optimization in the use of said pellets, , follow up and return of doses, administrative follow up of insemination operations, covering declaration to the IFCE and edition of covering documents).
In respect of the costs described in the two preceding paragraphs, the Owner of a selected mare is requested to pay €1900.00 + applicable VAT to the SETF by bank transfer on 31 December 2024 at the latest
If the sum of €1900 + applicable VAT has not been paid before 31 December 2024 by the Owner of a mare designated by drawing of lots, that mare is withdrawn from the list of selected mares and, if a drawing of lots has taken place, she will be replaced by a substitute mare, in the order determined by the drawing of lots carried out for the list of substitute mares.
- Specific provisions concerning the offspring of a Trotteur Français mare and TACTICAL LANDING (USA)
Offspring born from TACTICAL LANDING (USA) and a mare designated in accordance with the program described in this Appendix will be registered in the Trotteur Français Stud Book
If an offspring, born from TACTICAL LANDING (USA) and a mare designated in accordance with the program described in this Appendix, is approved as a stallion to breed in the Trotteur Français breed, pursuant to Article 8 of the Stud Book Regulation, the owner of that stallion shall keep each year, free of charge, 10 coverings of that stallion for mares meeting the criteria established by the SETF and designated, as the case may be, by drawing of lots organized by the SETF before 31st December preceding the breeding season.
Entry of any mare on the list by her Owner or a person representing him/ her, in the conditions described in Section 2 above shall constitute a firm and irrevocable acceptance.
